Antelopes in Saadani National Park

Until recently Tourism in Tanzania was developed with little regard for the aspirations of the surrounding communities who were excluded from the benefits of Tourism. This led to alienations of the neighbours of the Parks and other indirect players of the Industry.

BIG EXPEDITIONS is playing a leading role in reversing this climate of conflict. Around Mount Kilimanjaro area we have recruited and trained Mountain Guides, Chefs and Porters.

We also support Orphans, poor schools and many other such activities in the area bordering Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and other National Parks In Tanzania.

BIG EXPEDITION'S STRATEGIES ARE: -

  • Minimizing environmental impact in the areas in which we operate.

  • Sustainable community development.

  • Providing responsible, exciting and accurate informations on Wildlife, Local Culture, and ecosystems to our Guests.

  • Staff who are individually or collectively committed to adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle.

  • Support of independent, Non-governmental conservation organizations.

  • Biodiversity protections – Using profits to help threatened ecosystems.
