Days 1: Arrival Day
Upon your arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport you will meet our drive guide/representative and will welcome you and transfer to Arusha. You will be taken to a designated hotel or lodge for an overnight. This is bed and breakfast.
Days 2: Tarangire National Park
In the morning after breakfast you will meet your tour guide and you will have briefing about your safari. In most case you will be handle a printed itinerary for the whole safari. This morning you will be driving to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Tarangire is famous for its majestic baobab trees that can hold up to 300 litres of water.
On your daily game drives you may see huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, elephant, eland and oryx which all gather in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate to good grazing areas. Enjoy nature walks, foot safaris and extended bush trekking, to learn first-hand about the symbiotic intricacies of the eco-system that surrounds you and see some of the over 300 bird species that call Tarangire home. Visit a Maasai homestead for an insight into the customs and lifestyle of this nomadic tribe. Thereafter retire to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
An early game drive after breakfast as we move out to Lake Manyara National Park. On your arrival at the small but popular village of Mto Wa Mbu a Swahil word which means (Mosquito River) you will be welcomed by local people having varieties of things to show you. A hot lunch will be server in well restaurant/campsite in African style dishes. Visit the village before c ontinue to Lake Manyara National Park, an ornithological paradise with over 350 species of birds.
While entering Lake Manyara National Park you will be welcomed by the fun makes baboons and other species of Monkeys such as Blue Monkeys. Upon visiting Lake Manyara National Park you are assured of seeing hippos in their pool, elephants and zebras. Other common species are buffalo, wildebeest, impala, giraffe, and the elusive tree-climbing lion. Common birdlife includes flamingos, pelicans, storks, Verreaux's Eagle and vultures.
Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park/Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early in the morning you will have your breakfast and thereafter pick up your mountain bike and ride along the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Or an optional excursion on canoe on Lake Manyara National Park but should depend on the month of the year as it determines the level of water in the Lake.
After lunch, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage site, where you will descend 2,000 feet for a game drive. Ngorongoro crater offers you a chance to see the big five (Black African rhino, leopard, buffalo, lion and elephant) in a course of a day. However the crater is famous for it numerous numbers of activities to do and see which includes mixture of wildlife and human being, lakes, forest and waterfalls. In the evening you will be transferred to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Olduvai Gorge/Serengeti National Park
A morning game drive in Ngorongoro crater again and ascend for breakfast before continue to Olduvai Gorge. In 1959 the family of Leakey (Mary and Louis Leakey) unearthed 1.7-million-year-old Zinjanthropus and Homo Habilis (Handyman). In the adjacent museum, see many of the stone tools and other fossils found at Olduvai. Outside, a Tanzanian guide will explain the geological features of the gorge and the work of the Leakey's. Continue to Serengeti National Park, depending on the time we arrive at Serengeti. If it happens that we are late then we will dine and overnight at the lodge or campsite. Otherwise a game drive at Serengeti National Park and thereafter retire for dine and overnight.
Days 6 / 7: Serengeti National Park
Continue your exploration of the Serengeti in the Grumeti River area of the Western Corridor, famous for the huge crocodiles and hippo pools. Serengeti National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania and home to the regal lion, leopard, and cheetah, to their often wary prey, giraffe, topi, buffalo and impala. The kopjes (prehistoric rock outcroppings) host hyraxes, dwarf mongooses, and red-headed agamas, and often a sleepy black-maned lion or leopard. Each year, more than two million wildebeest, accompanied by thousands of zebras and other herbivores, cross the Serengeti in search of fertile grasslands. In the late afternoon you will retire to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight. Remember you will spend two days here to explore the vast plain of the Serengeti and what it can offer to you.
Days 8: Arusha
Depending on the schedule of the airplane, a morning game drive at Serengeti National Park again and thereafter breakfast before been transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Shop or relax in your day room at a designated hotel or lodge . After dinner, transfer to the airport for your flights home.
