Babu's Camp

Babu's Camp is located inside the Mkomazi National Park on the north eastern corner of Tanzania. It takes about 1 to 1½ hours drive from same town. Set between the acacia woodland, baobab trees and thin bushland Babu's camp is among the few worth much to visit accommodation facilities within the Mkomazi National Park.

The camp is in a permanent tent bases offering all the important and luxurious facilities that visitors needs. Within these large tents are wooden bed or twin beds, changing area with mirror, safari chairs at the outside, open windows like structure for ventilation. Each tent has an attached bathroom with a flush toilet and hot shower. Electricity is provided by a silenced generator (220 Volt from 07h00 to 09h00 and 18h30 to 23h00 daily), which provides lighting throughout the camp and in the tents.

The set of the tents are far apart from each another, even on the reception. Network coverage todate for most of telephone companies in Tanzania while in Mkomazi is intermediate therefore the camp is equipped with an HF radios in the event of an emergency. However in each tent there is a bell that alerts the guides that you need their assistance.

The dining tent offers ample seating inside and outside on its verandah where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served, and there is a full service bar set up next to a gigantic baobab each night.

Mkomazi National Park offers game drive; walking safari as well as good site for bird watchers an approximately 450 species of birds has been recorded. Visit the local markets and Maasai cattle selling is an ideal cultural tour to Same town and its vicinity.

Elephant Motel

The motel is situated in Same town about 5 minutes drive from Same bus stand as you go to Dar Es Salaam on your left. Set under the shades of the trees of different kinds Elephant Motel is an ideal place to stay for overnight or en-route for lunch to and fro Dar Es Salaam or Arusha.

Elephant motel has varieties of perfect and well furnished accommodation with a mix of executive suites, suites and standard rooms. Some of the rooms have queen size beds, twin beds and single beds depending on your choice. Each room is connected with a telephone as well as satellite TV. Hot and cold shower are available.

A restaurant is located in the main building offering suitable and palatable meals from African to European cuisine. The restaurant can accommodate up to twenty visitors and an outside garden can have up to 50 seats. The bar has much to offer from local to international hard and soft liquors. Each morning and late afternoon expects to see different kinds of monkey, mangooses as well as numerous numbers of different kinds of birdlife.
